Katie Jump Rope - a new project

Last year I bought a fat quarter set of Denyse Schmidt' line 'Katie Jump Rope' . I wasn't quilting yet when this line came out but was rather taken by it and when one of my favorite Etsy shops still had a good selection for a reasonable price on offer I was powerless to resist.

This past week I needed some cheering up so I took the fabric pack from my stash and began cutting.

I added strips from Painters Canvas from Laura Gunn in vanilla to the printed ones and soon found myself creating double hour glass block after block.

They look easy but are tricky little blighters because you have to be very precise in every step of the cutting process.  I actually used a flying geese ruler and will do a little tutorial on my way of doing the double hourglass block next week.
