Sew Mama Sew are hosting their annual giveaway day this week (i.e. not a day but a week) and I decided to use the occasion to thank you my blog readers and followers for your continued support.
Sometime last year in October I think it was when I decided to start a blog and flickr photostream. I already had finished several quilts since April that year and was graving a larger audience to share my creations with and also a community of like minded crafters to bounce of ideas. It has been a fantastic journey and I learned so much from your comments and suggestions.
And for that I thank you.
I will giveaway this week one Rolie Polie of the delightful and so aptly named Riley Blake collection 'Delighted' and one banner sheet of the same collection to one lucky reader.
To be eligible for this giveaway I would like to know from you which project you made this year you are most proud of. That may be the most beautiful item you crafted or perhaps the one that was a challenge or had a special meaning to you. Please include a link in the comment so I can have a look and also don't forget your e-mail address if it is not in your blogger profile.
The giveaway is open as always to everybody, national, internationals and Aliens are all welcome.
The giveaway is open until the 16th.
The project I am most proud of this year is my "Very Berry" quilt simply because it was such an achievement due its enormous size.

ReplyDeleteI think the project I'm most pleased with this year is http://archiethewonderdog.blogspot.com/2011/09/great-northern-quilt-show-2011.html quilting all the spirals almost drove me batty at times but I think it was well worth it! Thanks for the giveaway, my fingers are firmly crossed!

ReplyDeleteEarlier this year I made a Darth Vader costume for my daughter's bear. :) While I'm extremely proud of many other projects I finished this year, this one has to be my favorite for several reasons:
ReplyDelete1. I made it for my daughter, at her request.
2. I didn't use a pattern for the helmet... and it worked out! :)
I hope you like it: http://littlepeanutshop.blogspot.com/2011/05/darth-bear.html.

ReplyDeletehttp://desireeaimee.blogspot.com/2011/10/tree-pants-are-mostly-complete-also-few.html
My favorite finished project was my daughter's Christmas PJ's. It was my first every attempt at making an outfit. I am new to sewing and little blankets were all I tried at first so having to use a pattern, measure her, add ruffles to the bottom, and add an applique to the shirt, it was a task that came out ok, not perfect but pretty good for a first try.
ReplyDeleteI'm finally making my DH a quilt for Christmas. I've been collecting special novelty fabrics for 2 years - each block will have a very special meaning for him (I sure hope so anyway, LOL).

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely giveaway! I love that Delighted line, especially the banner!
ReplyDeleteThe project I'm most proud of is my Summer Sampler quilt http://www.flickr.com/photos/48813034@N04/6429993347/in/photostream. I was terrified of paper piecing and I managed it. Also managed to choose my own fabrics, rather than using just one fabric line, so I'm proud of that too :) Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteozknitter(at)gmail(dot)com
The project I'm most proud of was a quilt I made to welcome my daughter & her partner home, he is English & she had moved to the UK to be with him & they'd been away for nearly two years. During this time I started to quilt & the quilt I made for them was a Plus quilt in purple & grey solids, queen size - the plus being symbolic of her partner's addition to our family. Thanks for a lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThe Project I am most proud of is an autumn theme book cover. I used hand dyed damask, a cute stitchery pattern of a girl playing in autumn leaves and a felt and stitching autumn leaf book mark. The recipient loved it so I am chuffed.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this counts Judith as I didn't start making it this year - it is hand pieced and machine quilted - but I have 'finished' it - though I might be quilting something for my daughter in those octagons!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to teach myself how to sew for about 1.5 years... only 4-5 months of which I had a working machine though... >.>) I made my first 3 quilts this year and I made my own pattern on the fly for a Domo Bag. But I think my proudest moment was finishing my third quilt for my sister... even tried sorta applique type stuff to put a paw print on it for the first time ever. She uses the quilt constantly and it made me feel really good that she liked it so much. Here is a pic of the front, the back is brown and aqua minkee dots - https://fbcdn-photos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/255157_1977456550943_1078997241_2281317_217148_a.jpg

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I made this year was a little baby quilt for my newest little precious granddaughter! Thank you for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeletethe completed projects that I am very proud of are kindle covers for my father and sister...and I dont even own a kindle! I had to rely on the specs they gave me and made my own prototype using layers of cardboard stuck onto each other to get the accurate thickness...I still had to check and recheck my measurements a million times just to make sure...but the hard work paid off..they turned out great and my dad and sis both loved their covers!
ReplyDeletenabihawangde(at)gmail(dot)com

ReplyDeleteI did a fan quilt block quilt for my grandma and it was the most challenging, but also the more rewarding!
ReplyDelete(Blush...) In 2010 I finished a dozen quilts, and in 2011 -- I started more than that. Hopefully, 2012 will be another year of finishes!
ReplyDeleteMy "sea" quilt is my favorite. I actually finished it. I messed up and messed up trying to fix it and it STILL turned out wonderfully--in fact the messing up made it better. I love that. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I don't know if I would say proud, but I am certainly glad that I finished two camera bags. They were quite a challenge and I don't ever want to make another one!
ReplyDeleteMy most meaningful finish is the quilt I'm finishing up right now. A quilt for my midwife who was with us for the beautiful homebirth of our 5th child and walked with us on a scary journey when he got sick afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI'm most proud of the birthday dress I made my 5 year old. Lots of ruffles and fun!
ReplyDeleteI am most proud of my "bees knees" pettiskirt. ReplyDeleteThe project I am most proud of is one I haven't finished, but I haven't quit on. It is my daughter and son-in-law's quilt made from the linens from their wedding. I can see the light at the en of the tunnel. It is an everything that could go wrong did, but I have faced the challenge.
ReplyDeleteThe project I am most proud of is a sampler quilt I did as part of a QAL - "Summer Sampler Series". I had so much trouble from doing paper pieced blocks backwards, seam allowance issues that made my block too small, quilting not working well on my cheapo machine, etc. So while it's not my favorite project, it is one I am proud I made myself finish. And then I donated it so I would never have to look at it again! http://www.flickr.com/photos/15874173@N04/6090960685/in/photostream
ReplyDeleteI am most proud of a South Carolina patchwork I have hanging in my living room! It was a labor of love!
