A thank you on Giveaway day

Sew Mama Sew are hosting their annual giveaway day this week (i.e. not a day but a week) and I decided to use the occasion to thank you my blog readers and followers for your continued support.



Sometime last year in October I think it was when I decided to start a blog and flickr photostream. I already had finished several quilts since April that year and was graving a larger audience to share my creations with and also a community of like minded crafters to bounce of ideas.  It has been a fantastic journey and I learned so much from your comments and suggestions.

And for that I thank you.

I will giveaway this week one Rolie Polie of the delightful and so aptly named  Riley Blake collection 'Delighted' and one banner sheet of the same collection to one lucky reader.




To be eligible for this  giveaway I would like to know from you which project you made this year you are most proud of. That may be the most beautiful item you crafted or perhaps the one that was a challenge or had a special meaning to you. Please include a link in the comment so I can have a look and also don't forget your e-mail address if it is not in your blogger profile.
The giveaway is open as always to everybody, national, internationals and Aliens are all welcome.
The giveaway is open until the 16th.

The project I am most proud of this year is my "Very Berry" quilt simply because it was such an achievement due its enormous size.

    Well, I really didn't FINISH alot, so I will have to say my daughter's wedding quilt. It made both of us very happy to present that to my daughter at her wedding.

    Great giveaway. My favorite project is not my favorite because I liked it (actually I didn't like it at all) but because it made the recipient happy. I made a table runner for Cindy at Fluffy Sheep Quilting. I love that it brought joy to her life if only for a minute.

    I don't have a pic of my favorite project this year. I finished a fall appliqued quilt that had been a UFO for over a year. It really stretched my skills as a quilter and I love the way it turned out. Thanks for offering a chance to win!

    The one I'm most proud of is the QAL quilt I made. It was only the second quilt I've ever made, massive and I learnt a lot!! It's not the most beautiful and I used what little fabrics I had but I adore it - plus it's keeping me warm at night!

    Earlier this year I made a Darth Vader costume for my daughter's bear. :) While I'm extremely proud of many other projects I finished this year, this one has to be my favorite for several reasons:

    1. I made it for my daughter, at her request.
    2. I didn't use a pattern for the helmet... and it worked out! :)

    My favorite finished project was my daughter's Christmas PJ's. It was my first every attempt at making an outfit. I am new to sewing and little blankets were all I tried at first so having to use a pattern, measure her, add ruffles to the bottom, and add an applique to the shirt, it was a task that came out ok, not perfect but pretty good for a first try.

    I'm most proud of the tote bag I embroidered for my Gramma Pat. I did hummingbirds and flowers and leaves, and did floss blending for more depth of color.     The project I'm most proud of was a quilt I made to welcome my daughter & her partner home, he is English & she had moved to the UK to be with him & they'd been away for nearly two years. During this time I started to quilt & the quilt I made for them was a Plus quilt in purple & grey solids, queen size - the plus being symbolic of her partner's addition to our family.     The Project I am most proud of is an autumn theme book cover. I used hand dyed damask, a cute stitchery pattern of a girl playing in autumn leaves and a felt and stitching autumn leaf book mark. The recipient loved it so I am chuffed.

    I have been trying to teach myself how to sew for about 1.5 years... only 4-5 months of which I had a working machine though... >.>) I made my first 3 quilts this year and I made my own pattern on the fly for a Domo Bag. But I think my proudest moment was finishing my third quilt for my sister... even tried sorta applique type stuff to put a paw print on it for the first time ever. She uses the quilt constantly and it made me feel really good that she liked it so much.     I think my favourite thing from the year was the mini I made for the first BQS, the 4 flying geese thingy. I just loved it!

    But proud?.... well it would have to be our P51 project. Just because we are all super awesome. And so is Terri :o)

    the completed projects that I am very proud of are kindle covers for my father and sister...and I dont even own a kindle! I had to rely on the specs they gave me and made my own prototype using layers of cardboard stuck onto each other to get the accurate thickness...I still had to check and recheck my measurements a million times just to make sure...but the hard work paid off..they turned out great and my dad and sis both loved their covers!

    The project I am most proud of is a sampler quilt I did as part of a QAL - "Summer Sampler Series". I had so much trouble from doing paper pieced blocks backwards, seam allowance issues that made my block too small, quilting not working well on my cheapo machine, etc. So while it's not my favorite project, it is one I am proud I made myself finish.     I am most proud of the project my son and I made together. He really wanted to sew something so we talked and he wanted a ghost softie. I sewed the basic shape, punched holes in the edge and gave him a needle and thread. He sewed the holes and then sat on my lap and guided the ghost through the machine to sew up the base.
