A Laundry bag

So I thought I kick of the 2014 sewing year by sharing with you a (not so little) secret Santa present I made for a good friend.

It is a Lady who travels frequently and who requested a Laundry bag from me to make her life while traveling a little easier.

I had fun making the bag and it turned out huge. It is fully lined and I created the word 'LAUNDRY' that I "wrote" on the front and back.

The letters are not appliqued but pieced as it is a little more durable and I just fancied working it out that way although it is certainly more work. The fabric is all from stash and mostly 'Architexture' and 'Girls at Play'.

But it might not be the ideal traveling companion after all as it admittedly turned out on the large side and it being lined makes it rather heavy too. I hope she still likes it and if it is not ideal for traveling then it will certainly look good at home.
